Dear Congressman Lewis:

Requesting your help getting the written response report from Mr. Curtis Hobbs regarding my Loma Linda VA Aug. 25, 2008, FORMAL complaint against Hobbs' use of threatening words and actions against me.

These aggressive threatening actions where brought to your office’s attention by:

1. Aug. 26th phone call about Hobbs.

2. Sept. 4, 2008 letter to LA Times reporters and copy sent to you Congressman Lewis.

3. Sept. 9, 2008 letter to VA FOIA provider Craig Curtis and copy to Congressman Lewis.

4. This Sept 11, 2008 letter requesting help from Congressman Lewis and News media.

I need your help because I think obstacles have been deliberately installed into the VA’s hospital complaint system. I say that based on:

1. People I have talked to and two National ongoing PTSD lawsuits against the VA.

2. My personal VA experiences of last year and then correspondents with your office.
Example: http://hopefully-someday-4-u.blogspot.com/

3. My Hobbs complaint & Public Affairs Director Tuttle’s request to forget about it.

As a result I’m asking not only your help Congressman but also the medias help to improve the VA’s complaint structure and its lack of accountability.

Curtis Hobbs is a VFW volunteer from the San Diego office, volunteering at our VA Loma Linda hospital. On Sept 3, 2008, Loma Linda VA Director Favale’s secretary told me Director Favale would be making a decision (comparing my report against Hobbs’s report) within 10 days of my Aug. 25, 2008 complaint against Hobbs.

On Sept. 10, 2008, Loma Linda’s VA Public Affairs Director Annie Tuttle left me a phone message basically saying she wants to sweep this Hobbs mess under the carpet. Her exact recorded words are “I want to close the loop with you on the VFW incident”.

Tuttle’s response is not acceptable. It’s understandable that Tuttle would want to dismiss this Curtis Hobbs mess, as would VA Director Favale, you Congressman Lewis and the Senators of the Veterans Administration committee. But the Constitution does not give the Congress rights. It gives the Congress obligations. It gives the Congress responsibilities.

Being threatened by a person doing business in a VA hospital office is serious. It is also serious when the formal written complaint of threats are dismissed without a formal written reason. Tuttle’s insincerity (Tuttle’s Aug. 25 promises to me to have Curtis Hobbs write his report about my complaint) doesn’t belong in a hospital setting anymore then the threatening acts and words by Hobbs.

I don’t want to seem as if I’m trying to make something out of nothing. But like many accusations the cover-ups and insincere feelings of sorrow by Tuttle and top VA hospital staff have become more serious and hurtful then threats by Hobbs.

Sincerely,
Carl G. Mueller, Nam 68 http://www.blogger.com/profile/12877379209901347346
